Presumably, unless something important and controversial happens.  A proxy
could be by email to the Secretary, if full headers are attached.  it's
something of a preoccupation; I've just finished a term as national
secretary of a 140,000 membership incorporated association.  I may be take
a position that's unnecessarily formalised for progsoc's needs.

I sould also add that giving tasks to the Exec as a whole is fine too -
but you need to be specific, cos in two years time when you're gone,
people *will* swear at you for not saying what you meant.  Even if they
don't know who exactly they're swearing at.

I seem to remember reading that before... possibly ever since 1994
:-)  Perhaps I'll volunteer for the task in my tenth year of ProgSoc
membership.
