Thanks. I made the mistake of scrolling down the page and was forced to wait 5 
minutes while my clunky PC attempted to render the images. I put total d/l 
around 10MB for the page.

XHTML 1.0 re-implementation will not be forthcoming - spent to much time 
reading about commando coders. 

FYI: I got these stats from one of the images on the CD burial page after 
alleged optimisations:

Not to mention that it is sideways!

In the order of 252,863 bytes (252,952 bytes on disk!).

Might check it out when I'm not behind a shared 56k modem.
