- There was a big argument a few years ago, and when everyone was in heated debate, I said: This is what happens when you put two innocuous
objects together -- a mouse, and a female hand -- and it turns out that it bears a
similar appearance to something else. Because some people find the other image
to which this refers offensive, what do they do? Do they re-evaluate their perceptions
and question what it is that makes them draw this analogy in the first place? Maybe have
a laugh at the stupid way the human brain works? Someone once said humans have a tendency
to find patterns in things when there are none. No, they decide to take offence at the analogue
instead -- it is an analogue, it is not in fact the material you might criticise
it to be, no matter how hard you try to be offended by it. Sigh. Taking offence at something
doesn't make it pornography. (Or offensive, except offensiveness is strictly a subjective
concept, thank Deus). This is the kind of dumb, backward, primitive head-up-the-arse society I
have to put up with on this continent in this century. See you in the next one.
